How it works?

With the StomaphyX endoscopic surgery suturing device is inserted over endoscope and allows to reduce size of enlarged gastric pouch with 20-30 fasteners (see video). As a results on increased restriction additional 20-30% of excess weight loss can achieved within 6-12 months. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient or with overnight stay in the hospital.Patient can return to work in several days without any activity restriction. To let plications of the pouch heal dietary guidelines include 2 weeks of liquid protein diet, followed by 2 weeks of pureed diet.
Is StomapfyX safe?

Compared to traditional revisional surgery risks of StomaphyX procedure are minimal and generally limited to throat soreness for several days. So far there were several hundreds procedures performed worldwide with minimal side effects.

Additional studies are awaited by medical insurance companies to decide on coverage for this procedure. It is available for self-pay patients.
